Welcome! Today we learn all about SINGER Featherweight machines

segment 1: talking points with stephanie

Hello everyone! In my talking points, I update you on the quilt I made last week with the challenges and the accomplishments. I made the Alison Glass pattern, Cathedral. This is an appliqué quilt design. The pattern is not difficult, especially if you do not have to rush to complete it.

Amazing tool for fusible appliqué is the Cricut heat press. I have an affiliate link below, where I can get a small commission from click through sales. This is at no additional cost to you, and it helps to support the Make and Decorate Podcast.

I used silk batting for the first time and really like it…a lot! it is so soft, lightweight and quilts very nicely.

THE FEATHERWEIGHT SHOP

You can find just about anything featherweight related at The Featherweight Shop. The Singer Featherweight machines they sell are fully restored to beautiful working condition, and sometimes you will find these machines painted in a color other than the classic featherweight black finish.

Every month, usually the first Tuesday of the month, the online shop has their “Featherweight Faire”, where more featherweight machines become available to buy. This month (February 2020), they have a special edition Featherweight Faire starting on 2-20, 2-21 and 2-22.

If you subscribe to their newsletter, you will receive notification of these sales, and their blog posts, etc.

Also, be sure to check out all of the events coming up like the Alaskan Cruise and Missouri Star workshops etc.
